January 1, 2016

Today is the first day of 2016! We have lots of exciting adventures planned for this year. Some of them a little scary and others a lot of fun, but all of them are going to be well worth it for our family. We are marking today as a new chapter for this family and the hope is that we can capture it all to share and remember for years to come.

So here goes...
Day 1 was spent preparing Dad for the big move. Mom did lots of laundry and Dad decided what the necessities of life away from us in the city that never sleeps would consist of. We started to purge out the clutter in the closet, but only made a teeny tiny dent. The trash can was filled and about 6 pairs of shoes are ready for the donate pile. Now the motivation for the rest just needs to kick in!

Dad made his final homemade dinner request. He had to settle for his second choice, because corned beef can't be made without a little planning. Next time he comes home we will make it, but for tonight we settled for this:

(Ignore the horrible picture, I may need a little more motivation to get the good camera out for this instead of the camera phone.)

Kian talked a lot about how he really wanted to leave in the morning to head to Vegas too. The kids haven't quite figured out all of this moving stuff yet, but I'm sure it will sink in soon.
