2/18/16

Last day of wrestling for the season. Loyal got a gift from one is the kids even though he is already gone. Adam gave him a special coaches whistle and a card. It was a very sweet gift. 

I also have to share how excited I was to get gas tonight. I just want to document that it was the cheapest I've seen in years. $1.75/gallon...less than $30 to fill. Amazing! I don't think I've seen this since my teenage years. lol

Just another Friday at work, but my day was made from all the laughter from the kids tonight. The 3 little ones were all playing with toys together. It fills my heart to hear them happy together. I made Teagan take a picture by one of the toys they were playing with that made them laugh so hard.

I finished the paint in the boys room! You can see a glimpse of it in the picture before bed. It was dark in the room and all the lights were out. Kian is addicted to this book titled "There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly". In order to get him to bed I used my phone light to quickly read it and help him stay in his own room. That was my bartering tool for the night. He is such a little pill for bed that sometimes I have to pull out all the tricks I can think of.

Paint selection day for the boys room! I completed most of the room and selected a very neutral gray. Fingers crossed that it helps freshen up and make the room enticing to a buyer.

2/15/16

Let the purge continue! I dropped off the 6 garbage bags of consignment that I had gotten ready. Then the 3 boxes at Goodwill. For a larger portion of the day I sorted through the rest of the kids clothes that have been boxed up. Rhayn thought it was fun to help sort out the outfits. 

I have about 9 more garbage bags to deliver tomorrow. 

I was really proud of the boys who also contributed 2 bags full of toys for the cause. I think they are finally starting to see that they really don't play with many of the toys they have. It made it so much easier that hey we're helping to pick out toys. I had actually only told them each to pick 1 for today and then they just had fun deciding so we kept going with it. They even have more they had decided on, but we know it will have to be for the garage sale. 

I did also take the kids to the park while Rhayn had fun sorting outfits. She chose to stay at home while I took the kids. (Don't mind the blurred photos, because my camera phone just couldn't keep up!)

Valentine's Day! Teagan and I went to the store and bought balloons and chocolate for all of the kids. 

We had bought an extra balloon to take to gg, but when the kids got in the car with us it was mysteriously gone. We had to stop and buy another one on the way to go see her at the rehab facility. Good thing they were only from the Dollar Tree. 

After we visited gg we went to eat lunch with grandma and papa. The kids did pretty good except for Teagan who thought she was a monkey between the tables. 

Later the boys and I sent daddy a good night picture. 

Rhayn also helped sissy do her nails before bed. 

Although I think she only kept about half of them on by the time she climbed into her bed. It is more of just a game, but she thinks it is fun to have pretty nails for a few minutes.

We woke up and had a great morning watching cartoons and eating cereal. 

This afternoon I went to register O'rien for baseball. Then I came home and sold some baby stuff. I sure can't wait to get it all out! 

I started to sort things for consignment. All of these bags are the first part that I plan to take over this week. I hope they take it all. 

I also sorted a few boxes for Goodwill. 

The pool table is also full with what will be garage sale. It was a very productive day, but I'm really anxious to get it out of here. Rhayn couldn't believe how much stuff I had pulled out of the closet downstairs today. I don't think she realized how much was crammed under the stairs. 

Loyal sent me a picture of his adventure today too. He went and played around with his Christmas gifts from my parents out in the desert. He of course also had to take his usual picture of the jeep. 

I'm not sure I'm ready for the dirt, but the sky looks nice and pretty.

Tons of traffic tonight! 

Yes it was bumper to bumper and I didn't even see a wreck to be the cause of it. Pretty crazy. Good thing my mom was at my house and she didn't have plans since it took so long to get home. 

Kian had another accident with his glasses again tonight. His little kid ones were so much easier and kid proof. I wish the bigger ones were a little more kid proof. At least they didn't snap this time, but they are already missing a piece from who knows what happening. 

Poor guy seems to keep hurting this same eye. You can still see the last injury from a few weeks ago when he took a different fall. Hopefully this will be the last injury for a little while.

O'rien had his Valentine's Day party at school today. He seemed like he had a good time. This was his little Valentine envelope he made to collect his cards and treats in at school. 

Rhayn got to go shopping with grandma and buy a prom dress. She doesn't have a date or know if she is going so it is a "just in case" dress. It is really pretty. I took a little sneak photo, but don't want to spoil it for when she actually wears it...even if that may possibly be next year.

LToday we had a good scare. Rhayn stayed after school and didn't tell any of us. The babysitter called 2 hours after she should have been there to ask the plan with no sign of Rhayn. After 20 minutes of panic we finally figured out she had just stayed at school and forgotten to let us know. Thankful that was all that had happened. 

I did walk in the door to a cute little dragon girl tonight though. 

I think all of the kids have tried that costume on a time or two.

Today was full of chores and preparation. I had Katie and Jean come and take a look at the house so I could get a good idea of what needs to actually be done. I had a lot of my normal weekly chores to tackle today, but I did manage to move out a few more boxes to the garage sale pile. I also filled a garbage bag full of junk and tossed out the old play station along with a bunch of old paperwork. 

As you can see it was nice and dusty. I had to take a picture to send Loyal just to be sure it really was broken. I couldn't remember what was wrong with it, but no point in keeping a big paperweight. It is going to feel really good to finish up with some more boxing and cleaning tasks after my work rotation this week. I'm hoping I can make a good dent in clearing out more junk. 

It looks like one of the kids snagged my phone again today. I'm not sure the point of these, but this is what they took pictures of.

Just another Monday. I found this picture in my car today. I love to see how much the kids care about each other. O'rien drew this picture to represent him and his brother. They can be so sweet. 

Tonight O'rien actually turned down playing with the neighbors so he could stay in and play the video game with Kian too. So lucky to have such good kids.

Today was a super nice day. The kids and I went out and about today to enjoy the sun. A little trip to Ikea and a few other small stops. We found the girls new rugs on sale for their rooms. We might just keep them packaged up and ready for moving, but it was hard to say no to such great deals! I never splurge so you know it was a good one. 

I took the kids to the library and park today too. They had fun running off some energy. 

I also finished my book tonight. I made Loyal take the test at the end of it. My assumptions were correct for his scores being highest in the area of physical touch and then through words of affirmation. Mine were scored highest in the areas of acts of service and then with quality time, which is what I had guessed they would be. Now if we could only remember these things more often since we are completely opposite.

Just another Saturday at work. Rhayn spent the day watching the two little kids and catching up on hw. She has a lot to do since she missed so much over the last few weeks. 

I picked up O'rien from his friends house when I got off from work. The report was good, just as I knew it would be. He had a lot of fun and they were already talking of planning another sleep over soon.

Go Red Day at work. I think it was actually National Red Day or something along those lines. I of course wore red and got a cute little pin to support women's health for heart and stroke. 

O'rien went to his friends house tonight for what I think is his first official sleep over without mom or dad at a friends house.

Nothing very note worthy today since I had to work. When I came home Rhayn did have a little bit of crazy makeup on though. She had a friend come over and they experimented by putting on makeup while I was at work. A little bit much, but I'm glad she had fun with her new friend.

Rhayn made it through the day at school! We are making progress. Today felt like a busy day, but looking back I'm not sure we really did that much. I know the day started with fixing the play station yet again. I had to take it apart to pull out 3 movies. 

I'm pretty sure Teagan thinks it is a fun game to shove as many movies in as possible. 

Once they were out I did a Pilates workout. I feel like that in itself was an accomplishment. I think that was the first workout in well maybe we shouldn't even say.... 2 years?! I guess minus a few bike rides. Hoping to get a little shape before I attempt insanity so I don't kill myself. We will see how I feel tomorrow. I tried to pick a semi easy workout, but since I'm so out of the workout life I have a feeling I will be sore.

Concussion update....Rhayn can finally resume half days of school tomorrow! She is really excited and ready to go back. We still have to do some more evaluating, but I hope this goes smoothly. No activity for a while, but baby steps forward. 

O'rien had practice tonight. Kian and I went to watch him for a little while. He was pretty excited to see us there. I let Kian take a few pictures to entertain him a little bit. 

Today I also made baby steps on the cleaning/organizing task. I finally went through the hall closet and purged out the shoes that didn't fit the kids. Now the shoes are all off the floor and the small ones are in a box to make their way to garage sale or the dump! 

2/1/16

Rhayn had a follow up appointment today. Still no school for her for a little while longer. We are waiting for a follow up call from the doctor to determine if she needs to see the concussion specialist or if she can return to school soon. The constant headaches are still of concern. She was pretty disappointed by the news. Fingers crossed we get a good follow up call and the headaches go away. 

This afternoon I took the kids to the park. We walked the trail and they all had fun playing together. I love watching them enjoy each other. It makes my heart full full to see them happy. 

Kian also high jacked my phone and took a random picture of the toy mess today. Crazy kids have way too many. Definitely time to start pairing them down.
